did this installing CFW not on a moan though.Just wondered if any one realised that phat ps3 with card slots in, evenwhen bricked good and proper, when turned on does the green yellow flashing red bit and cant access HDD does try to access the memory stick pro duo slot.Is ther a way of loading something via memory stick and then reflash OFW like when using pandora in PSP and could this be the reason they stopped putting mem slots in.Just thought it interesting it tried slot even when fully bricked and wether somone clever enough could utilize this.worth donating for if could.

I thought the usbjig was supposed to be the "pandora" for the ps3.. However if im not mistaken, and I probably am since the amount of research I put into the ps3 is... zero, the usbjig still requires there to be firmware flashed to the ps3. (in a working state assumed, but possibly somewhat broken as well?) Making its use as a "pandora"... limited.

As of right now, there is no unbricking solution, unless you want to do what Marcan (of fail0verflow) did and do some heavy soldering.

just thought it strange that even though it fully bricked and cant read HDD or anything else it can still try to read mem stick pro card slot while light is green before going yellow then flash red, even when slot is empty.this was due to being to eager to install CFW.

It may be possible, but I'm not really the one to ask. I'm sure if someone knew something about it they would have released some info. You should ask Mathieulh or Marcan.

You need an external nand programmer it's the only way to save those consoles. We did warn people about the consequences of messing with lv2 didn't we?

@Mathieulh Luckily, I waited to see what would happen before I flashed CFW, so I don't have a brick, but are there any plans (that you know of) to implement a recovery function that does not depend on lv2?
